A brief written from opinion produces a page that competes on opinion. A brief built from the pages already ranking tells a writer what the topic requires: which sections readers expect, which terms are treated as essential, and where the current best answer is thin. That is the gap this tool fills.
A brief that writers actually follow is short and specific. It states the target cluster and its intent, the expected structure, the terms and entities the topic requires, the questions that must be answered, and the internal links the page has to carry.
Anything beyond that — tone guidelines, brand rules — belongs in a style guide, not in a per-page brief. Mixing the two is why briefs get ignored.
For pages that already exist, start with the content analyser. It scores a URL across twenty quality factors — structure, depth, readability, coverage, metadata, internal linking and more — and returns a prioritised list of what to fix.
That audit usually changes the plan. Pages that look weak often need three structural fixes rather than a rewrite, and finding that out first saves the budget for pages that genuinely need new content.
Single-page briefs do not scale to a hundred-page plan. Bulk analysis takes a spreadsheet of URLs or clusters, processes them as a queue, and returns both the scores and the briefs as formatted files — one tab per site or page — so an entire content programme can be scoped in one pass.
The output is deliberately readable: the same layout you see on screen, exported as documents you can send to a client or a freelance writer without reformatting.
Briefs and clusters are one workflow, not two tools. Each brief should name the cluster it serves, and each cluster in your plan should point to exactly one brief. When that mapping is maintained, cannibalisation becomes visible immediately: two briefs claiming the same cluster is a structural error you can catch before publishing.
